This features a traditional bonsai scissor design.
It is suitable for a variety of tasks, ranging from trimming small branches and pinching buds to root pruning. While somewhat unwieldy for small bonsai, these scissors are ideal for medium-sized (chuhin) bonsai and larger. They can also be used for root pruning; however, please ensure all small stones are removed from the root ball before use, as catching a stone between the blades can cause them to chip.
Additionally, these scissors feature slender handles and are lightweight. Compared to the "No. 41" (approx. 220g), the "No. 41C" weighs about 190g. The blades are thinner and narrower, making them well-suited for intricate work and reaching into tight areas.

These scissors are completely handmade from a single iron rod using traditional Japanese sword-making methods, combining soft iron and hard steel for "hardness" and "toughness." The steel used is "White steel" from Yasuki Steel.
Yasuki Steel, produced in Tottori Prefecture, is famous for the steel used in Japanese swords. "White steel" is ideal for cutting branches, whereas "Blue steel" is harder and used for blades like sashimi knives. Because the Deba knife (often white steel) needs to cut through hard fish bones without chipping, this steel is chosen for its balance of sharpness and durability. Therefore, these scissors use white steel for easy, clean branch cutting.
